Yes. Opal is a player for your existing Apple Music subscription. It plays the same catalog, library and playlists you already have.
Opal is $2.99 every three months or $9.99 a year, after a 7-day free trial. Checkout opens from the app and your subscription is tied to the Apple ID you sign in with, so it follows you to every computer with nothing else to create or remember. Payments are handled by Stripe, and you can cancel any time from the account menu.
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), macOS 14.2 or later (Apple Silicon runs it through Rosetta), or 64-bit Linux. Opal isn't code-signed yet: Windows may show a SmartScreen prompt (choose More info, then Run anyway), and on first launch macOS needs System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway.
When a new version is out, a button appears next to your profile. Click it to download in the background, then click again to restart into the update. Occasionally an update is required before you continue.
You sign in with Apple's own native account system inside Opal. Your password goes only to Apple, never to us, and we never see your library or listening.
